Catching Up!

It feels like forever since I update this blog, but it has just been a little over a month....a busy busy busy month! I've loaded a bunch of pictures this time to help sum up the fun summer we have been having.

Kacy at 11 months. About a week before turning 11 months she began pulling up to stand. She has 3 almost 4 top teeth and the two bottom. She is down to 2 bottles a day and loves to eat. She sleeps through the night, but unfortunately for mommy she likes to wake up very early (5am) some mornings. She babbles a lot, but doesn't really have any words. She loves playing "peek a boo" and "pat a cake". She is such a happy baby and so easy going. She is wearing a dress the I made for her.

Dathan enjoyed the 4th of July this year. He loved the sparklers!

The morning of the 4th we participated in the Smokey Bear Fun Run in Capitan. Chad ran the 10K while I took the kids and Mady on the 2 mile run/walk. We had fun and were definitely noted for being the only stroller there.

My sister came for a weekend to pick Mady up.

Kacy's favorite spot to hangout.

Bath time at the cabin.

Iris Farm in Hondo. We knew the iris had already bloomed for the season, but I still wanted to check out the farm. We will go back next year when they are blooming.

Dathan reading a book to Kacy. He held onto her leg, so that she would not go anywhere. He was intent on reading to her. Very precious moment!

Ready for church. The past couple of months with Kacy has been challenging at church. She is having separation anxiety and will not stay in the nursery. We usually drop her off in the nursery, but can guarantee that we are the first parents called out of church to get our child. We pray this stage does not last too long. Dathan still cries on occasion going to the nursery, so who knows?

Kacy's 10 month pictures.

Sleeping babies are so precious.

It rained really hard one day, so I let Mady and Dathan play in the mud and water. They had so much fun!

We went to Clovis this past weekend to visit Chad's brother and family. We took the boys to a train museum and the LOVED it! What a fun time.

Our little "ham". Kacy is already learning to pose for pictures.

4 kids under 3 years of age.... need I say more!

Colorado, Crawling, Santa's Workshop, Zoo....

We have had such a busy fun filled month so far. I drove alone with the kids to Colorado and spent 2 busy fun weeks with my family. Dathan and Kacy were spoiled with lots of attention from Grandma, Papa, Auntie and Mady. I was able to have lunch out with friends and shop. It was a great break!

Kacy's eyes were blue until she was about 7 months old and we noticed they began to change. They are more of a hazel color. I get lots of comments on how pretty her eyes are.

Our neighbors had us over to swim the other day. The pool is not heated, but was 94 degrees. It was wonderful!

Kacy finally began to crawl forward on June 1st. I was dreading her crawling for so long, but so far it has not been a problem. I was anticipating her being like Dathan, fast and into everything, but she is slow and not into too much yet.

Kacy is trying to pull up to stand on everything, but hasn't quite got it figured out.

Dathan feeding the giraffe's at the zoo in Colorado Springs. He was terrified of the hippos, but once we got home that is all he could talk about.

Happy Girl! Kacy is just such a happy easy going baby. I wish I could keep her at this age longer!
Grandma and Kacy watching Dathan on a ride at Santa's Workshop.

Dathan is probably one of the only kids to go kicking and screaming ("I don't want to go...I want' to go home.") to Santa's Workshop. Once we got him in the park and he went on his first ride he was hooked. We ended up taking him back a second day he had so much fun.
Dathan crashed in the car after a full day at Santa's workshop.

9 months

Kacy has had a big week! She turned 9 months, mastered drinking from a straw, made a few movements crawling forward (she is fast backwards, but still struggles to go forward), claps her hands when you say "yeah", and can go from lying down to sitting up by herself. She went to the Dr. this week for her 9 mo. checkup and weighed in at 21.5 pounds and was 28 inches long. She is 90th percentile for weight and 75th for length. She's a big girl! She loves her brother and gets so excited and laughs when he plays with her. She wants all of his toys (which he is not crazy about) and is very busy these days.

I know it is hard to see in this picture, but Dathan has learned to cross his eyes. He goes around saying "There's two____".

Mother's Day

Brag a little...

Dathan is now a little over 2 1/2 years old and amazes us daily with what he knows and can do. He began potty training early Feb. and is doing so good. We have the occasional accident and a diaper at night, but other than that he is a big boy! He talks all day long and has so much to say. He can remember things that we tell him one time and brings it up weeks later. He says his ABC's with a few errors and counts to 13. He is beginning to recognize a few letters of the alphabet and loves to recite books to me. He frequently tells Chad and I how things work and uses hand gestures to express what he is saying (it is adorable). We were at a park the other day and he kept saying "Tater Tot", we realized he meant teeter totter. When ever he hears an airplane he says "airplane go boom"..."sonics boom". (We have lots of sonic booms here with the Air Force planes flying all around.) Even though Dathan can have his 2 year old moments and sometimes a little too frequently we still think he is so much fun!

We went to a festival to celebrate Smokey Bear's 65th b-day this past weekend. Dathan loves Smokey and had fun getting candy at the parade.

When my parents were here a couple of weekends ago we went to a carnival here in town. Dathan would not have anything to do with the rides at the carnival, so we took him over to Kmart and let him ride the little car out front. It was more his pace. =)

Mommy always makes him wear these crazy hats.

March and April...busy busy busy!

We have had a couple of very busy months! We were blessed to have nearly all of our family visit us at least one time if not 2 or 3 times. Dathan and Kacy have been spoiled to say the least!

We have done so many fun things in the past 2 months I have had a hard time picking my favorite pictures.

Dathan 2 1/2 & Kacy 8 months
Kacy's 8 month bunny pic. She is such a happy baby and so easy going. She loves her jumper and playing on the floor. She sits up really good now and is definitely interested in trying to reach for toys that are out of reach. She is a ways from crawling and I am not trying to press the issue. I am not looking forward to having two on the move. She still just has the two bottom teeth, but the top two appear to be getting closer to breaking through. She tolerates baby food, but I think she really just wants to eat what we are eating. She can pick up cherrios and get them to her mouth and drinks from a sippy cup. She says "da da da" and makes the funniest growling noise when she wants your attention. Maybe she will have hair by the time she is two???

First ride in the bike trailer together.

Yummy toes!

Dathan and Silas watching Nemo.

Mady, Dathan, and Kacy at the zoo playground.

We went to church the Sat. night instead of Easter morning, so we loaded up and headed to the mountains for a hike. We got to our spot and found it to be very cold and snowing just up the hill from us. We ended up driving to lower ground (warmer) taking a short walk and having a picnic.

Dathan and Mady taking a bubble bath in our jet tub. I think they could have played for hours.

Kacy graduated to the duck tub and loves it. She likes to splash and play with toys.
